Who We Are

Project Genetic connects impact capital to effective implementation, working with foundations, impact investors and civil society organisations. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. The organisation responsible for this website is Project Genetic.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, organisation, email address and the content of your message. We do not require any information beyond what the form asks for, and we do not collect financial or governance data through the website itself, since that information is only ever exchanged later, directly with a specialist, once an engagement is underway.

Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, which collects information such as pages viewed, time spent on the site, and the general geographic region a visit originates from. Google Analytics does not collect your name or email address unless you have separately submitted them through the contact form, and only runs once you have accepted analytics cookies through the banner on this site.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information from the contact form to respond to your enquiry and, where you become a client or funder, to begin the engagement process described in our Partner Onboarding Guides. We use Google Analytics data to understand which parts of the website are useful to visitors and to improve the site over time. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your information to any third party.

Legal Basis for Processing

Where you submit the contact form, we process your information on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. Where you enter into a signed engagement with us, we process information under that agreement and the accompanying Data Processing Agreement, which governs data handling for the engagement itself.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep contact form submissions that do not lead to an engagement for 90 days, after which they are deleted. Where a submission leads to a signed engagement, information is retained under the terms of the Data Processing Agreement signed for that engagement, typically for the duration of the engagement plus five years to support any future re-verification or funder audit.

Who We Share Your Information With

We do not share information submitted through the contact form with any third party, except where you become a client or funder and information is shared as part of a signed engagement, under the confidentiality terms set out in that engagement's agreements. Google Analytics data is processed by Google under its own privacy terms, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

International Transfers

Project Genetic is based in Serbia, which the European Commission has recognised as providing adequate protection for personal data. Where you are located in the European Union, your information may be transferred to and processed in Serbia under this adequacy decision.

Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, object to or restrict our processing of it, and request that it be transferred to another organisation. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Cookies

This website uses cookies, described in full in our Cookie Notice. You can manage or withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time through the settings described there.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect a change in the tools we use or the law that applies to us. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated, and we encourage you to check it periodically.
